Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Luminous Technologies(“we”, “us”), which operates FinTracker. By creating an account or using FinTracker you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use FinTracker.

2. The service

FinTracker is a personal finance tracker for people in Uganda. It lets you record your accounts, income and expenses, income streams, savings goals, debts and net worth, and export some of those records to Excel.

FinTracker is a record-keeping tool. It does not connect to your bank or mobile money accounts, does not hold your money and cannot make payments or transfers for you. The figures it shows are based only on the information you enter.

3. Your account and eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use FinTracker.
• FinTracker is for personal use. Each account belongs to one person.
• Give accurate registration details and keep your email address up to date.
• Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.

4. Free trial, plans, payment and cancellation

Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial. You do not need to provide any payment details to start it. When the trial ends, you need a paid plan to keep using the app.

Plans and prices

FinTracker costs UGX 10,000 per month or UGX 100,000 per year. Prices are shown in the app before you pay. If we change our prices, the new price applies only to periods you pay for after the change.

Paying with mobile money

Payments are made with mobile money through our payment provider, ioTec Pay. You approve each payment on your phone. Your plan starts or extends once the payment is confirmed. Your mobile money provider's own terms and charges also apply.

No automatic renewal

Plans do not renew automatically and we never charge you without your approval. We email you a reminder shortly before your paid period ends. If you do not pay for a new period, your access to the app ends when the current period ends. Your data stays in your account unless you delete it.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for (or the end of your trial).

Refunds

Cancelling does not by itself give you a refund for the remaining part of a paid period. If you believe you were charged in error or have another problem with a payment, contact info@luminouscrm.com. We handle refund requests case by case. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Ugandan consumer law.

5. Acceptable use

When you use FinTracker, you agree not to:

• break the law or use FinTracker to support fraud or other illegal activity;
• try to access another person's account or data;
• probe, scan or test the security of the service, or interfere with or overload it;
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, or access it with automated tools except as we allow;
• upload malicious code or content that infringes other people's rights.

6. Your content and data

The records you enter in FinTracker belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only so that we can provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You can export your transactions, income streams and net worth to Excel, and you can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings. We recommend keeping your own copies of anything important.

The FinTracker software, design and brand belong to us. These terms do not give you any rights to them other than to use the service.

7. Not financial advice

FinTracker is a tool for tracking your own money. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Totals, charts, targets, net worth figures and any tips or articles on our website are for general information only and depend on the accuracy of what you enter.

You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Before making important decisions about investing, borrowing, tax or your business, speak to a qualified professional.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep FinTracker available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, and it may be affected by problems with our providers or your internet connection.

We may add, change or remove features over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance where we can.

9. Limitation of liability

FinTracker is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, savings or data, arising from your use of FinTracker or from decisions you make based on it.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to FinTracker is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Ending your use of FinTracker

You can stop using FinTracker and delete your account at any time from Settings.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your account puts the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using FinTracker after that, the new terms apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together will be handled by the courts of Uganda.
